A chance for our couples to grow closer together outside of our worship services.  We walk together, lift each other up, and build long-lasting relationships all with a focus on living a Christ-centered life.

Steve and Cyndi Oliver were married on February 18, 1982 in Duncanville, Texas. Steve worked in manufacturing and maintenance until he turned 35 and made the decision to go into ministry. He attended the Preston Road Center for Education and graduated in 1995. Steve and Cyndi served for 10 years in Lancaster, then 8 years in Midlothian and began helping the Maypearl church on a part time basis in 2013. He came on board full time in 2014. The Olivers enjoy spending time with their family. They have 5 grown children, Josh and his wife Jennifer, Chance and his wife Lexi, Cassidy, Halie, and Katie. So far they have one grandchild, Connor. Steve enjoys preaching, teaching and helping people. His favorite verse is John 1:14. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. His favorite song, at this moment is “Who You Say I Am”.

James and Gena Beam

James Beam, Jr. became an elder in 2019. He regularly teaches the young adult class on Wednesdays.  He married Gena, a native of Waxahachie, on January 19, 1977.  James says that she has been the “constant steady” in his life, helping him to become the man for God that he strives to be. Just one year later, James attended the Preston Road School of Preaching, graduating in January 1980.  They have been involved in full time ministry in several cities: Waxahachie, TX; Pierre, SD; Guthrie, OK; Maypearl, TX; and Hearne, TX. They moved back into the area in 2009.  They have two children and three grandchildren.  James currently works at Refrigeration Design Technologies as a senior project manager.  Gena retired in 2017. James’s favorite song is “How Great The Father’s Love”.  One of his favorite scriptures is I John 3:19-20 “This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in His presence: if our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything.”
